Abstract

This item contains an essay by Doris Cochran about her 1935 trip to Brazil. In "Expedition to Brazil", Cochran describes her 1935 trip to South America. Although not field notes, the essay contains a first-hand account of her collecting trip and provides names of collecting localities (such as Bello Horizonte [sic] and Pirapora on Rio Sao Francisco), names of accompanying collectors (such as Joaquim Venancio), and notes on the frogs, new genera and species of fish, and other biological specimens collected. Also included is "Frog Collecting in Brazil", 1935, published in "The Brazilian-American", and "The Dragon Lizard of Komodo," undated.
