Abstract

The field book documents Edgar A. Mearns' field work in Rhode Island and Wyoming, 1900 - 1904. Pages are numbered. The specimen list is headed with type (scientific name) and includes field number, sex, type, date, location, and measurements (varying types). Some include notes about habitat or specimen preparation. Location information includes geographic location (i.e. lake), county, and state. There is a loose insert listing field numbers of skins. The notebook is entitled, "Catalog of Mammals, Volume II". Specimens listed in the bound volume includes 6 types of measurements, and sometimes weight. Locations are across Rhode Island.
