Abstract

Volume 2 of a catalogue of birds Mearns, Heller, and Loring collected on the Smithsonian African Expedition from 8 September to 14 December 1909. Collector numbers 16701-17715 are included, and correlating USNM catalog numbers have been added for most of the specimens. Localities where specimens were collected include Saba Saba (in Kenya?), Fort Hall (currently Murang’a), Mount Kenia [sic] (currently Kirinyaga), Nyeri, [Wambugu?], and Changamwe. Various altitudes are recorded. Also includes additional field notes of some specimens by Mearns and a list of skins not found.
