Abstract

Typescript copies of itineraries and narratives from Mearns's time in the Philippine Islands for military and collecting purposes, 17 June 1902 to 30 March 1907. These itineraries are typed copies of the handwritten itineraries in the same collection. Included are notes on birds, mammals, and other specimens Mearns collected or observed, including several bird lists, and measurements of some specimens. No collector numbers seem to be included. Also included is detailed surveyor data from exploratory trips to Mount Malindang and other localities. Some names of specimens in Bogobo are also included. Localities include but are not limited to Mindanao Island, Basilan, Mount Apo, Mount Halcon, Zamboanga del Sur, and Luzon Island. Some information in this typescript does not seem to appear in other itineraries in this collection.
