This logbook contains data sheets from Equalant II cruise on the USCGC Casco from July 24 to August 18, 1963. Summary of sampling route: samples are taken from the North and South Atlantic Oceans starting at a point near to the mid-Atlantic United States, going east and south near the west coast of the African Continent, then west and further south along the east coast of the South American continent near Brazil's Espirito Santo. Sample data sheets contain the following data: ship and cruise no., station no., sample number, total no. samples, coordinates, date, local time, tow type, net in, net out, length of tow, wire angle at max depth, flowmeter reading, corrected depth range, flowmeter no., displacement vol., flowmeter calibration factor, corrected displ. vol., vol. H20 filtered, wire angle information, salinity, temperature, hydro station information, sky condition, sea condition, surface water temperature, BT slide data, BT temperature, remarks, comments, or observations, and observer name.
