Abstract

The black-and-white photographs document Bohumil Shimek's field work in Missouri and Iowa, 1905 - 1908. Most photographs are labeled and dated. Subject matter includes detail and distance images of terrain, pot holes, ravines, cuts in the terrain, cliffs, buildings and structures outside Saint Joseph, Missouri; along roads and railroad tracks; geological specimens with shell bands; and Aftonian and pre-Kansan exposures. Some cuts are numbered. Locations include Saint Joseph, Missouri; Council Bluffs, Turin, Iowa.
