This field book consists of the field notes and fragments of specimens of J. Holmes, from Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey, in 1890. Many of the pages have botanical specimens (mostly grasses) attached, some of which are possibly fragments of the corresponding collected specimen. The field notes include collector numbers 1 through 594; scientific name and/or common name; date; location; and locality notes and other observations.
