Abstract

The journal documents Edmund Heller's field work, May 19 - June 10 (year not stated) for the National Geographic Society Yale University Peruvian Expedition, 1915. Information is entered from the front and the back of the notebook. Entries are dated. They detail locations, travel details, staffing, daily work and times of day, campsites, interactions with local inhabitants, flora and fauna observed, specimens collected, elevation, and trails used. Includes lists of types of specimens per location,organized by whether mammals or birds. Lists include field number, type, quantity, location collected, and additional descriptions. Entries include notations written in red, and indicate if sections have been copied. Locations include Huallabamba [Huayllabamba (?)], Torontoy, Cedrobamba, San Miguel Bridge.
