Abstract

Three page itinerary documenting Mearns's travels from Zamboanga to Palmas Island, 75 miles east of southern Mindanao, from 19 to 24 January 1906. Includes a geographic description of Palmas Island (currently Pulau Miangas in Indonesia), and a description of the coasts of Mindanao and adjacent islands. Also included are the following natural history notes: birds collected at Palmas (quantities but no collector numbers) and bats observed at Palmas; notes on observations of birds, mammals, lizard, plants, and fresh water, terrestrial, and marine shells on top of the highest peak of Balut Island.
