Abstract

Materials document Alexander Wetmore's time in Europe in 1930. He came to collect specimens of birds for the US National Museum (USNM) in Spain, and attend the VII International Ornithological Congress in Amsterdam. Materials include field notes, circa 3 May - 21 June, 1930, passport, collected business cards, memorabilia, notes, and maps. Notes detail a variety of information: latitude and longitude positions, lodging, locations and addresses, bird lists (including sex), sketches, and lists of film. Locations specified include vicinity of Puerto del Ponton, Puente de los Fierros and Leon in Spain. Memorabilia includes menus, passenger lists, programs and such from the VII International Ornithological Congress in Amsterdam. Map has no markings.
