Abstract

This logbook contains data from the Gibbs cruse from July 11 to October 26, 1968 and January 1 to 20, 1969. During this cruise, samples were taken from various stations in the North Atlantic Ocean near the southeast and mid-Atlantic United States. Includes time-depth recorders manufactured by Benthos, Inc. Plankton sample data sheets record the following information: IBM serial number, card no., species data format, species data format, ship code, cruise, sta. no., sta. code, sample number, no. samples, coordinates, upper sampling depth, deeper sampling depth, date, local time, duration sampling, sampling device, mesh size, tow type, water volume filtered, and ship speed, inner and outer flowmeter data, date examined , upper and deeper sampling temperatures, salinity, transparency, depth, conditions, D.S.L. observations, comments, observer name. Wire angle and hydro station data is recorded on the back (verso) of these sheets. Some data sheets vary and may include other types of data.
