Abstract

This volume consists of the field notes of A. S. Hitchcock from his collecting activities in the United States and Cuba, 1905-1907. The first section of the volume includes a list of grass collections, 1905. The list records grasses and sets collected in South Carolina, Virginia, and Cuba with: collector numbers (1 through 599, and some repeating); scientific name; locality, date, and occasional notes. A list of sets are marked "H+C" and possibly refer to grasses collected with Mary Agnes Chase. The second section of the volume includes notes on grasses collected in the United States in the spring of 1906, and specimen lists for specimens collected from 1906 to 1907. The field notes tend to be more descriptive in this section, including: collector numbers 626 through 2493, locality; collection notes; abundance; and other observations. Locations include: Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho.
