Abstract

This item contains additional notes on the Aguson Expedition, (notes of an expedition Mearns took from Zamboanga to Baganga), 22 April to 14 May 1904. This narrative, journal-like account of Mearns's travels includes notes on military activities including encounters with Moro "rebels", religious and cultural observations of local inhabitants, and detailed descriptions of the flora and fauna of the localities visited. Mearns notes indicate that he collected shells, rocks, birds, a frog, and perhaps other natural history specimens during this trip. Localities include Zamboanga, Baganga, Lake Mainit, Jimenez, and many other localities. 35 pages.
