Abstract

This manuscript is a description of the birds listed in Mearns's "Catalogue of Birds Collected in the Philippine Islands," volumes 1-3, June 27, 1903-August 4, 1907. This manuscript includes further additions to the list with descriptions of species new to science and to females (previously unknown) of Cyrtostomus jugularis dinagatensis and Anthereptes cagaganensis as well as mammals, fish, and unidentified birds of the Philippines. The numbering system indicates that the manuscript may be incomplete. There are approximately 100 pages without page numbers at the end of the manuscript. Localities include but are not limited to Mindanao Island, Sulu Island (currently Jolo Island), "Mount Opo", West Bolod Island, Island of Buluan, Dammi Island, Sibutu Island, Siassi Island [sic], Basilan Island, “Mount Bliss”, “Mount Libo”, Mount Malindang, Cuyo Island, Loran [Doran] Island, Palmas Island (currently Pulau Miangas in Indonesia), Luzon Island, Fuga Island, and Batan Island.
