Abstract

The black-and-white photographs and postcards document Bohumil Shimek's field work. Photographs are often unlabeled, and undated. May the product of multiple creators. Subject matter includes Sahara desert; bluffs; specimens (fungi); dunes in central Kansas (with descriptions); spruce plain in Manitoba (1920); group portraits; woods; trees (detail images and vistas); Silk cotton tree in Nassau, Bahamas; magnified images of specimens; and oaks in southern Iowa. Locations include the vicinity of Council Bluffs, Okoboji, Iowa; Kansas; Manitoba, Canada; Nassau, Bahamas.
