Abstract

This field book includes Mary Agnes Chase's list of plants collected between 1922-1925 in Austria; Europe; Brazil; Maryland; and District of Columbia. The plant list entries include collector numbers (7578-9285); scientific name; location; date; and physical descriptions. Occasionally, entries include descriptive notes about the collecting activities or environment from which the plant was collected. Small sketches of grasses and flowering plants accompany some of the entries. Interspersed with the plant list entries are longer more narrative notes describing Chase's observations of the landscape in different locations.
