Abstract

Mearns's dispatch book includes original and carbon copies of diary like dispatches about the war, bird collecting, other animals observed, and other observations from 9 June to 13 July 1904 during a trip to Davao and Mt. Apo in the Philippines. Collector numbers range from approximately 13393-13395 and 13437-13558. Collector number 5658 (mammal) is also included. Localities include but are not limited to "Kanipan Bank" (Mindanao), Samal Island, and Mount Apo. Some coordinates are included for localities. Some bird names in local languages are also included. Mearns also includes a list of tribes of Mount Apo.
