Abstract

The 9 photographs document geological and botanical observations of Bohumil Shimek while in Iowa. Photographs are undated and are grouped by number. They are individually numbered and include typed descriptions listing a combination of location, type of formation, and type of plants. Subject matter includes vistas and detail images of prairie, Turkey Creek, and hillside vegetation (trees, sumach, bur-oak). Locations are in the vicinity of Iowa City, Homestead, Forest City, and Unionville.
