Abstract

This field book contains diary entries consisting of lists of mostly birds but also mammals Mearns observed in various parts of New York, the midwestern and western United States, localities in the Pacific Ocean, and Manila, 9 June to 4 August 1905. Mearns collected this data as he traveled west for a second expedition to the Philippines. No collector numbers are included. A few of the many locations in which birds and mammals were observed include Lake Champlain (NY), Buffalo (NY), Circleville (OH), Saint Louis (MO), Fort Sill (OK), Colorado Springs (CO), Salt Lake (NV), San Francisco (CA), Sula Sula (Guam), and Manila Bay (Philippines).
