The expedition was conducted with the cooperation of the United States Navy, Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, and USDA. Materials include US Naval communications about position, weather and daily activities; specimen requests; intended destinations of specimens and other collected materials (plants, birds, mammals, insects); itineraries; official USDA correspondence; business cards; a press release; receipts; bird lists (Laysan Island); lists of supplies; A significant amount of the materials relate to Laysan Island. Locations visited include Nihoa, Laysan and Lisianski Island.
