Abstract

The 8 photographs document geological and botanical observations of Bohumil Shimek while in Iowa. Photographs are undated and are grouped by number. They are individually numbered and include typed descriptions listing a combination of location, type of formation, and type of plants. Subject matter includes vistas and detail images of woods, loess (ridges), prairie, vegetation (bur-oaks), and ravines. Images include snowy landscapes. Locations are in the vicinity of Council Bluffs.
