Abstract

The 8 photographs document geological and botanical observations of Bohumil Shimek while in Iowa. Photographs are undated and are grouped by number. They are individually numbered and include typed descriptions listing a combination of location, type of formation, and type of plants. Subject matter includes loess terrain (bluffs), valleys and groves (names included), prairie, and agricultural fields. Locations include the vicinity of Harrison county, Arion, and Missouri Valley.
