This journal contains Keen's daily entries from 1941 to 1945. Most of Keen's entries are snippets of her daily personal and professional activities. The diary does, however, contain notes from a collecting trip to San Felipe, Mexico (near the Gulf of California, also known as the Sea of Cortez) from 21 March to 30 March 1941 to collect mollusks. During the trip, Keen also collects in Punta Peñasco. No specimens are named.
