Abstract

Alexander Wetmore traveled to Maryland in 1922 to investigate the condition of Texas Bobwhite (also known as the Mexican Quail) introduced from northeastern Mexico. Work was completed while employed by the U.S. Department Agriculture (USDA), Bureau of Biological Survey. Includes field notes, 12-17 November 1922, reports, correspondence, and an expense book. Includes report entitled The Introduction and Present Status of Mexican Quail in Maryland (includes itinerary and tables) and a list of birds not protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty.
