Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 23 May to 16 June 1973 in Hawaii, Phoenix Islands (Kiribati), and American Samoa. Collection numbers 54533-54712 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.) Also included are some longer narrative notes on vegetation in various localities. Localities include but are not limited to: Kula, Maui (Hawaii); Canton Island, Birnie Island, Enderbury Island, Phoenix Island, Hull Atoll, Sydney Island (Kiribati); and Tutuila Island (American Samoa). Some hand drawn diagrams of quadrants of Enderbury Island and Phoenix Island can be found on pages 65 and 66.
