Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 16 November to 19 December 1970 in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Collection numbers 52834-53635 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.) Also included are some longer narrative notes on vegetation in various localities. Localities include but are not limited to: Kottegoda, Galle, Patanagala, Bakiella, Kandy, Ramboda Falls. Also included are Fauna and Flora Protection Ordinances issued to Dr. Fosberg and Dr. Sachet, from the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Colombo (Sri Lanka). A small flower is taped into the book on page 119.
