Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 14 June to 23 August 1970 in Arizona, District of Columbia, Virginia, Puerto Rico, Maryland, and Indiana. Collection numbers 52222-52330 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.) Also included are some longer narrative notes on vegetation in various localities. Localities include but are not limited to: Flagstaff, Sedona (Arizona); Bull Run Mts., Sleepy Hollow, Rappahannock River (Virginia); Cayo Diablo (Puerto Rico); and Pine Hills Nature Preserve (Indiana). Notes in the back of the field book describing Fosberg's observations of construction along the C&O Canal in Great Falls (Maryland) are accompanied by a handout describing concerns about construction in the area (author unknown).
