Abstract

The 8 photographs document geological and botanical observations of Bohumil Shimek while in New Mexico, c. 1903 - 1907. Photographs are undated and are grouped by number. They are individually numbered and include typed descriptions listing a combination of location, type of formation, and type of plants. Subject matter includes an adobe mill, vistas of canyons, an irrigated valley, and detail images of vegetation (yucca, agave, ferns). Locations are in Alamogordo, Sacramento mountains, and El Valle, New Mexico.
