PrintThe 8 photographs document geological and botanical observations of Bohumil Shimek while in New Mexico, c. 1903 - 1907. Photographs are undated and are grouped by number. They are individually numbered and include typed descriptions listing a combination of location, type of formation, and type of plants. Subject matter includes vistas of white sands desert, red sands desert, dunes, fertile soil in arid conditions, and examples of vegetation (mesquite, yucca, sage brush). Locations are in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
