Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 4 April to 14 October 1968 in Ceylon (Sri Lanka); Hawaii; Virginia; Minnesota; England; France; and New York. Collector numbers 50203-50508 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.) Also included are some longer narrative notes on vegetation. Localities include but are not limited to: Ruhuna National Park (Yala National Park), Kirinda (Ceylon); Kilauea, Chain of Craters (Hawaii); Sleepy Hollow; Winslow Hills, Shenandoah National Park (Virginia); Kawishiwi (Minnesota); Barton Hills, Oxfordshire, Isle of Wight (England); Fontainebleau (France); Orleans County, Suffolk County (New York). A botanical specimen is included between pages 182 and 183.
