Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 13 December 1964 to 13 June 1965 in Brazil, Virginia, Hawaiian Islands, California, and Maryland. Collector numbers 45939-46189 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc..) Some longer narrative notes document vegetation in various localities. Localities include but are not limited to: Sao Paulo, Sao Vicente, Praia Grande (Brazil); Sleepy Hollow, Spottsylvania, Azalea creek (Virginia); Chain of Craters, Kalapana, Kaimi Bay, Naulu, Kilauea, Hawaii National Park, Honolulu (Hawaii); San Joaquin River (California); Scientists Cliffs, Battle Creek Cypress Swamp (Maryland). Pages 126-129 include a list of plants collected by J. D. Wentworth in Hawaii. The field book also contains some loose notes dispersed throughout.
