Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 10 May to 19 July 1964 in Venezuela, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Collector numbers 45215-45683 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.) Some longer narrative notes document vegetation in various localities. Localities include but are not limited to: San Sebastian, Rio Tigre, La Ceiba, Pariaguian, Calabozo, La Guama (Venezuela); Fairfax County, Spottsylvania County, Shenandoah National Park, Frederick County (Virginia); Berlin (Pennsylvania); and Garrett County (Maryland). Included in the field book also are: a photocopied map titled "Belvedere" showing Spotsylvania and Caroline Counties, Virginia; a typed itinerary for Venezuela trip; and some correspondence with the Nature Conservancy regarding the identification of a fungus specimen.
