Fosberg from 14 October 1962 to 25 January 1963 in Costa Rica, Brazil, Virginia, Maryland, and France. Collector numbers 43425-43403 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.). Some longer narrative notes document vegetation in various localities. Localities include but are not limited to: Sao Paulo, Guanabara (Brazil); Fairfax County (Virginia); Worcester County (Maryland); and Fontainebleau (France). Travel notes are also included for Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Several loose pages are inserted into the book and include maps, travel pamphlets and ephemera, and field note annotations by George Eiten and unknown.
