Abstract

The catalogs document William Louis Abbott's collecting 1910-1915. The first is the "original catalogue" of William Louis Abbott's specimen collecting in Kashmir, April 1910 - June 1911. The other catalogs cover specimen listings through July 28 - August 12, 1912; June 8 - November 12, 1913; October 2 - December 9, 1915. Pages are numbered. They include hand drawn and printed maps. The entries list collector numbers (7000 - 8494), specimen (USNM catalog) numbers (173568 - 201073), sex, type, location, date, and remarks. Remarks vary in content and length, including information about specimen preparation, environment, collecting method, and elevation. Locations include Woolor Lake, Trimuk [Trimukha], and Bonar Nullah. The hand drawn maps are of Sind River and Nowboog Valley, Woolar [Wular] Lake, and Pohru River, India.
