Abstract

This notebook contains a list of bird species Mearns collected until March 1884. Corresponding collector numbers are listed after the name of each species. Birds were possibly collected in Arizona. Also included in this volume are notes on the food of Birds of Prey. Notes are not listed in chronological or geographic order. Notes were taken in the following localities during the following years: Highland Falls, NY in 1878 and 1880; Long Island, NY in 1880; East River, New York City in 1879; Fort Verde, AZ in 1885 and 1886; and the San Francisco and Mogollon Mountains (possibly referring to Mogollon Rim), AZ in 1887.
