Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 14 September to 25 October 1959 in Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, and Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire). Collector numbers 40328-40722 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.). Localities include Little Pigeon River (Tennessee); Linville Falls (North Carolina); Skyline Drive, Fairfax (Virginia); Annapolis (Maryland); Potomac River (District of Columbia); Banko National Park, Cote d'Amour, and Dabou (Ivory Coast). Also included are travel and vegetation observation notes from France, West Africa, and Sudan.
