Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 5 November 1958 to 20 January 1959 in Pakistan, Indonesia, Australia, and Hawaii. Collector numbers 39651-39809 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.) Also included are travel notes from Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, New Jersey, Iowa, New York, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Oman, Iran, India, and Malaya (Malaysia). A printed flyer titled "Ketchak - Dance of Bone" from Bali, and a typed report of Excursion III to East Java and Bali, can be found in the front of the field book. Dispersed throughout the book are train schedules, maps, and other travel ephemera. A typed list of plants collected from Bali is also included. A typed letter from the Missouri Botanical Garden acknowledging a gift of poinsetta seeds can be found between pages 180 and 181.
