Abstract

Materials were compiled by Alexander Wetmore while in South America, 1920-1921. He was investigating the distribution of life zones of North American migratory birds in southern South America. On this trip, Wetmore was designated a temporary disbursing agent for the Department of Treasury. Includes correspondence concerning his work for the Department of Treasury and other fiscal matters, receipts, bank statements, canceled checks, and expense books. Includes 7 memoranda of traveling expenses (May 20, 1920 - May 19, 1921) listing food, lodging and travel with destinations indicated. Receipts indicate he traveled in Argentina including vicinity of Tucumán and San Martin.
