Abstract

This volume contains several catalogs of birds and mammals observed and collected in 1884 and 1885. Not all lists are chronologically in order: List of birds collected in Arizona Territory; Birds sent to Prof. Louis A. Berega (page 36); list of birds and mammals (and some diary information) from 17 March 1884 to 28 August 1885 in Fort Verde (currently Camp Verde), Arizona (this list is broken up by other notes and not in order), collector numbers 2644-4187 (birds) and 91-237 (mammals); Serpents of Arizona May 22-23 1884, numbers 1-5; Catalog of birds collected on the trip to San Carlos Indian Agency with General George Crook in October 1884, numbers 3361-3470; List of Works Collated in the Appendix to my birds of the Hudson Highland; and "Notes on a hunting trip from Fort Verde to Indian Garden on Oak Creek, Arizona Territory, between January 14th and 18th, inclusive, 1885". Also includes sketches; botanical specimen inserted at pages 130-131, 206-207, and 284-285; "To Emma Baldwin", a poem, and research notes.
