Abstract

This is 8 of 13 envelopes of 8 photographs documenting Bohumil Shimek's travel and work in the southeast United States, 1936. Photographs are numbered and some include descriptions on the reverse side. Most images depict crop fields and area irrigation. Subject matter includes views of conduit across rice-canal north of Iowa, Louisiana; additional views of the canal; rice field with layer of rice straw; irrigation ditches; residences and streets in Lake Charles; and cotton field prepared for planting.
