Abstract

Field notes and and lists of specimens document Bohumil Shimek's work in Mississippi and Illinois, c. 1898 - 1936 (materials are not dated with a year, listing July 5). Pages are numbered. Entries covering Freeport, Illinois are dated and headed with location, travel details (destination, times of day, mode of travel), weather, description of terrain, presence of shells, and presence of loess. Terrain types include the alluvial plain. There is a hand drawn map of Freeport area. Much of the center of the note book is blank. The list of specimens is for **** Natchez and Vicksburg, Mississippi, and details type, terrain where found, location information and number. Includes loose inserts.
