Abstract

Field notes (list of trees) and 2 maps document Bohumil Shimek's work in Iowa, August 5, 1899, and undated. Entries include lists of native trees; descriptions of trees observed, their locations, and appearance (condition); names of individual planters (farmers) and their quantities of types of trees (including walnut); and descriptions of groves and individual trees. Terrain types include lakes, counties, and towns. Includes maps of Humbolt county, Iowa, and northwest Iowa. Locations cover Estherville, Dickinson County, Okoboji, Esterville, Armstrong, Iowa.
