Abstract

Field notes and diary document Bohumil Shimek's work in Iowa, Nebraska, October 2 -29, 1936. Entries are dated and describe terrain observed, lists of destinations and distances, dated lists of expenses, geological sections, terrain details (layers, measurements, color, composition, appearance), types of trees observed in relation to terrain, and presence of shells. Some location descriptions are for numbered stations. Half the notebook is blank. Locations include a wide range, some places of focus, or end points include Fairport, Wapello county, Iowa; Beatrice, Nebraska.
