Abstract

Mearns uses this journal to record his daily activities and lists of mostly birds and mammals seen during his natural history research in Arizona from 25 March to 5 April 1885. Notes on abundance and distribution are also included, as well as notes on vegetation. Collector numbers 3837-3868 (for birds) is included. Localities include but are not limited to New River, Halls Ranch, and Gila River. Surgeon's notes from Camp Hualapai, July 22-August 1, 1881 are also included starting from the back.
