PrintThis notebook documents Sherman's first trip to Washington, DC to the National Museum (Smithsonian Institution). Notes record the entomological findings (mostly beetles) of Mr. Schwarz, Mr. Ulke, and others who accompanied Sherman on the trip. Included with the notebook are unbound sheets of notes entitled "A list of beetles named in Dec. '88 and Jan. '89" by Mr. E. A. Schwarz. These notes seem to be taken when Sherman was at school.
