Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected from 10 March - 16 December 1952 on the Marshall Islands, Guam, Japan, Virginia, and Maryland. Collector numbers 34417-34496 are included. Narrative notes describing landscape and vegetation of some localities are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, and sometimes a physical description of the specimen noting measurements, color, and other information. Some general remarks on processes occurring in atoll soils can be found as well. Localities include Ujae Atoll, Wake Island Atoll, Iō-jima or Iwo Jima (Japan), Fairfax (Virginia), Kayargel Atoll, and Palau, among others.
