Abstract

The field notes and diary document Bohumil Shimek's work and travel in Iowa, August 13 - September 5, 1923; March 16 - 21, 1930; October 31 - November 1, 1933. Entries are dated and describe trips taken through out counties and towns of Iowa, and include lists of plants headed with location, type of terrain, and travel details. They describe terrain observed along railroad lines; dated lists of expenses; weather; daily activities; and specimens collected. Locations include the vicinity of the towns Wilton, Summit, Ft. Madison, and counties Louisa, Washington, Jefferson, Wapello, Lee, Johnson, Muscatine, and Des Moines.
