Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected from 10 October to 22 December 1951 in California, Johnston Island, Japan, and the Marshall Islands. Collector numbers 33607 - 33907 are included. Occasionally, notes become long and narrative, and will sometimes include general descriptions of vegetation in a locality. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, and sometimes physical description of the specimen that includes its measurements, color, and other information. Localities include but are not limited to Stanislaus County (California), Honshū (Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan), Jemo Island. Notes (profiles) are inserted between pages 68 and 69. Hand-drawn map of some localities in the Marshall Islands are included. A map of Japan with miscellaneous notes on the verso is inserted at end of the book.
