Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected from 1 April to 27 August 1950 in the Palau, Yap, Marianas, Johnston Island, Maryland , Virginia, Sweden, Norway, France, England, Luxembourg, and Iceland. Collector numbers 32468 -33196 are included. Occasionally, notes become long and narrative, and will sometimes include general descriptions of area vegetation. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, and sometimes physical description of the specimen that includes its measurements, color, and other information. Specimen inserted between pages 142 and 143. Document entitled "Population studies of Betula", a 49 page list of specimens collected in Europe and Virginia dated September 1950 to 20 January 1951, numbers 33197 - 33254, is inserted at the back of the notebook.
