Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected from 18 June to 24 December 1949 in Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, and North Carolina and from 20-28 May 1949 in Corsica. Collector numbers 30947-31154 and 1-239 are included. Occasionally, notes become long and narrative, and will sometimes include general descriptions of area vegetation. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, and sometimes physical description of the specimen that includes its measurements, color, and other information. A photograph of a specimen is inserted between pages 104 and 105. Localities include but are not limited to Shenandoah National Park and Prince George County.
